What is a Cut Sheet?
We know that when it comes to cuts, you’d rather have more material than too little. That’s why we use Cut Sheets, a standard among top companies in the industry, to guarantee precision and accuracy for your needs. Each cut has its own sheet designed for different frames/ body styles of different cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs. Once you have found the appropriate cut sheet for your vehicle, we request the cut sheet be filled out with details for your needs.
- VIN#
- Depth of Cut*
- Drawn line approximating cut
- Additional Notes
- Signature of Approval*
Once the details are gathered, we require a final confirmation and signature before any cuts are made. This is to ensure 100% accuracy to your needs.
Cut Sheet Procedure
Our knowledgeable team of Parts Specialists are ready to help walk you through the steps of completing a cut sheet to your needs. We understand that each repair will be different in one way or another, so we strongly encourage you to note any special requests, and specific details of what is needed, before the order is processed.
Once the cut sheet has been signed and approved by the customer, our team confirms the part is in its condition, as described, before getting started preparing the vehicle! Depending on the area and complexity of the cut, interior seats, panels, and other parts may need to be removed first. Our Parts Technicians will clear the area of any inventoried parts not included in the cut sheet, before measuring and marking out the cut lines specified on the cut sheet. Final cuts are made to cut sheet specifications, or with slight excess material beyond specified to ensure there is plenty of material to accomplish the repair.
The cutting process is complex and requires careful execution. From preparing the vehicle to utilizing the necessary materials such as PPE, tape, automotive dismantling saw blades, cut off wheels, tie-downs, and skids.
